The high tech version of an old fashion horsey ride. Imagine a soft, cuddly, plush pony that you simply attach on your knee with two Velcro straps, set child on your knee, bounce and the adventure begins. Touch the back of your Knee-Riders head to hear real pony sounds!

At the end of your adventure simply replace play time custom fit pillow for hours of companionship. Child can use pony as a seat on the floor, as a pillow to watch TV, or to have as a bedtime friend.

The Danoco Corporation was formed in 1988 for the purpose of marketing Knee-Rider. The name Danoco came from the inventor, Dan Olson, who invented the first plush Knee-Rider type toy back in 1974 for his 2 year old son. We applied for a patent in 1988, and was awarded one in 1991. We went on to test market our Knee-Rider in Wal-Mart stores and did very well! We wanted to be the first company to introduce a child/adult interactive plush toy and we were!

In the age of internet, we are using the worldwide web to reach our next avenue of sales. The Danoco Corporation is made up of Dan Olson (the inventor), his brother, and a long time friend. Our wives’ and childrens’ input have been a great help and inspiration to us, which we appreciate tremendously! Thanks to Knee-Riders success, we've recently built a new outlet and shipping store in Hill City, MN. We hope to hear from you soon!

A No, this would damage the sound module.

Q How can we replace the batteries and turn the Knee-Riders sound on and off?
A The sound module for the Knee-Rider's realistic toy pony noises is located in the cushion compartment just under the neck of the Knee-Rider (*See Picture of battery pack and on/off switch). Open the small slit to find the hidden compartment with a Velcro closure. Located inside this compartment is the battery case with the on/off switch. For sound, make sure the switch is in the "on" position.

Q Are Knee-Riders safe for all ages?
A As you know, all toddlers are different. This is really up to the adult. Although we at Danoco are comfortable in saying that the Knee-Riders are safe for children ages 18 months and older.

Q Are there any hard materials under the fabric or inside the Knee-Rider?
A No, the Knee-Rider is a plush toy pony that has a battery case that is tucked safely inside the cushions neck.

Q Who actually invented the Knee-Rider, because we've heard more than one claim?
A The Knee-Rider concept was invented in the 1950's, maybe even earlier! Those were made of wood, metal and the like. Dan Olson was the first to invent a soft cuddly plush Knee-Rider in 1974. Please review our company info page included in this website for more details.

Q A toy similar to yours was seen on a talk show in 2003 with a gentleman who claimed he was the inventor. Was that you? What do you say?
A No, that was not the true inventor of the Knee-Rider, Dan Olson was. It just goes to show that even celebrities can be fooled sometimes.
